Tips to Stay Committed to Your Fitness and Weight Loss During the Holidays
Holidays are a great time to give up on your fitness and weight loss goals completely. Delicious meals, desserts, and company potlucks are all excuses people make to give up and start again after the new year. Everyone from college students to grandparents faces this dilemma each and every year.
However, there are many things that you can do that can keep your fitness and weight loss goals active even during the holidays.
Here are some tips to stay committed to your fitness. Ready?
Work out first thing in the morning
If you work out on an empty stomach first thing in the morning, your body will burn its body fat for fuel. Also, I have found that working out first thing in the morning gets that out of the way and sets my entire day up for success.
You can work out whenever is convenient for you, but I found out that first thing in the morning is the best option for me.
Do something you will stick to and enjoy
If you pick something you do not like, such as running, you will most likely give it up.
Pick a fitness routine you enjoy, such as cycling, brisk walking, jumping rope, dancing, CrossFit, or Yoga.
There are many ways to exercise and get in shape, but make sure it’s something that you enjoy doing and look forward to each workout.
Turn it into a lifestyle
Part of living a healthy lifestyle is exactly that, a lifestyle. If you consider what you’re doing a quick diet or temporary fad, you’re setting yourself up for failure.
Changing your mindset to a healthy lifestyle will significantly increase your chances of success.
Create a home gym
If you have a gym membership, you know it can be very tempting to skip the gym because getting in the car and traveling is just too much!
Building your home gym takes this temptation and travel time away, leaving you with no excuses why you didn’t exercise for the day.

Find a workout partner
For some people, having a workout partner is a great way to help you stay on track with your fitness and weight loss goals.
If you have a good workout partner, they will help motivate and inspire you to keep going and make progress.
Make sure you pick someone who does that instead of someone who will be the devil on your shoulder and tell you to skip workouts because they do not feel like working out.
Reward yourself…occasionally
Of course, it will be challenging to be one hundred percent faithful to a healthy fitness and nutrition plan during the holidays. Sometimes you’re going to have a Thanksgiving meal or a decadent Christmas dinner.
It is beautiful to enjoy these days, but make sure that you stay on track with your healthy lifestyle before and after these days.
Visualize
One thing that many health and fitness experts overlook is the power of your mind. If you visualize yourself as you want to be, you are more likely to succeed when implementing a change to your lifestyle.
Visualizing in your mind the body that you want to have and why you want to have that body.
Positive expectations and self-confidence can go a long way.
