Name Three Risks Associated with Diet Pills
Diet Pills, while can be effective, certainly have risks associated with use. In this article we discuss Three Risks Associated with Diet Pills and some other healthier alternatives.
Addiction

The first risk associated with diet pill use is the risk of addiction. Most diet pills contain a very large amount of caffeine and possibly other stimulants.
This makes it have the potential of being extremely addictive.
If you’re a coffee drinker and you’ve gone a day or two without it, you will notice a pretty nasty headache that happens.
This is due to withdrawal symptoms with many diet pills, the withdrawal symptoms will be much stronger, making it a high risk for addiction and substance dependence.
Ignoring Diet and Exercise
The second risk associated with diet pills is the potential to ignore nutrition and exercise. It can be easy to just think, I can just take these diet pills and lose weight without doing anything else. This is simply not true. Diet pills are not some magic bullet that will create miraculous weight loss results (although the marketing would lead you to think so!)
Before taking any sort of diet pills or weight loss supplement, make sure your diet and exercise are in check and make sure you are in consultation with your physician.
A multitude of Health Concerns

Unfortunately, many diet pills have a wealth of different health concerns that should be researched before taking them.
Remember to always consult your doctor or physician before starting any nutrition, exercise, or supplement protocol.
Here are some of the health concerns of taking diet pills:
- Damage to the liver
- Diarrhea
- High Blood Pressure
- Mood Swings
- Kidney issues
- Insomnia
- Increased Heart Rate
Many different diet pills have been banned from the market such as Ephedra and Hydroxycut because of their serious health risks.
Even today, there are still ones on the market that should be viewed with caution.
Nutrition supplements are not regulated by the FDA, so just because they are available for sale does not make them safe.
Better alternative supplements

At natural nutrition company, we are a firm believer in creating a foundation of good health through proper nutrition, exercise, and a positive attitude. However, there is some benefit to dietary supplements once you have mastered the above key items.
Supplements are meant to “supplement” an existing health regimen.
However, we do have a few recommendations for healthy weight loss supplements that can assist with your weight loss journey.
Coffee

The OG of weight loss supplements! Although Coffee contains caffeine, it does have value as a weight loss supplement if used properly and in moderation
Just make sure to limit the cream and sugar for the best results when wanting to lose weight.
My favorite part about coffee is how cheap it is (if you’re making it at home).
Starbucks is another story…
Conjugated Linoleic Acid CLA
Conjugated Linoleic Acid or CLA for short is another healthy diet pill supplement that we think is something to investigate. In recent studies, CLA has been shown to reduce body fat and suppress appetite.

Green Tea Extract
Green Tea Extract also contains caffeine but in much lower doses than coffee or other harmful diet pills. When taken as directed, Green Tea Extract has been shown to reduce body weight and fat mass due to containing epigallocatechin (EGCG). (3)

Glucomannan
Glucomannan is a soluble fiber that essentially helps keep you full. These lead to overall appetite suppression and weight loss.
Studies even show that people who supplemented with Glucomannan lost more weight than those who did not. (2)
