Top 5 Favorite Bodybuilding Supplements
Bodybuilding supplements have been popular as far back as the 1950s. Back then, there were only a handful of products to choose from, and most of it was decent.
However, with thousands of supplement companies in the market, they all of the course promise amazing results because they want you to buy their product.
Most of it is junk, however. Because of this, I’ve tried many different supplements with mixed results.
The products below are ones that I have used personally to gain lean muscle mass and burn body fat.

1. Protein Powder
This is the granddaddy of all supplements. Protein Powder was the first bodybuilding supplement I ever took.
When I was trying to gain as much muscle as possible in my early 20s, getting all the calories I needed to gain weight just from real food alone was nearly impossible.
Within a few years, I was able to go from 125 lbs to a more muscular 165 lbs.
I would eat three large real food meals, and three mass gainer shakes mixed with whey protein powder.
Do yourself a favor and make your mass gainer shakes. They are cheaper, less processed, and taste a whole lot better.
Here is the weight gainer shake recipe I used in my 20s
- 1 banana
- Two scoops of chocolate whey protein
- ½ cup dried oats
- 1 tbsp natural peanut butter
- 2 cups of whole milk
- A handful of ice cubes
