How to Lose 20 lbs or more in 2020
Successful Tips for your Fat Loss Journey
This is it! We will lose 20 lbs in 2020! This is the year that we are all going to hit our weight loss goals! It’s a new year and a new decade. And I don’t know about you, but I am excited for what this year and decade will bring to your weight loss goals
I have a confession to make…I’ve had some regrets recently with my own body. I mean, how can I tell people to lose weight when I’m struggling with my own weight recently?
Although I have a decent amount of muscle mass, I have too much “mass” around my belly. I have a thinner frame, and the weight doesn’t show that much, but I could still lose 20 lbs.
I read a great quote the other day. “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time to plant a tree is right now.” That resonated with me
Regrets don’t help anyone, and that quote says it all. You can’t change the past, but you can make a change right now.
Take this journey with me, and let’s lose 20 lbs this year together! I am writing this article in March, so we have to lose an average of 2.2 lbs per month to hit that goal. We can do this!
This is how to lose 20 lbs or more in 2020- Several successful tips for your Fat Loss Journey
Have a Winning Mindset
It can be easy to beat up on ourselves because we don’t like our appearance. That is just shooting our success in the foot. To achieve the body we want and lose 20 lbs in 2020 we have to own it with a positive winning mindset.
If you don’t believe in yourself, who else will? Before starting any type of weight loss program, please remember to stay positive, believe in yourself, and then take inspired action toward your goals.
Eat more fruits and vegetables
Fruits and vegetables have a lot of volume, filling up your stomach, and making you feel fuller with fewer calories.
This is exactly what you want when you are dieting. Plus, fruits and veggies are great overall for your health.
They are packed with vitamins and minerals to help keep your body healthy!
Portion Control
By portioning your meals, you know without a doubt you are not overeating. If you’re committed to weighing out each gram of food, then, by all means, have at it.
However, I have found that measuring with your hand is a great way to stay on track and not make your portions too large. Check out the infographic below:

Start Walking for Weight Loss
There are a lot of differing opinions on what is the best type of cardio. Should you do high-intensity interval training or low-impact cardio like walking? I think there’s a benefit for both, but walking is much easier on the body and I’ve found most of my clients will actually do it.
I think starting out with 10,000 steps a day is great and going up from there.
Supplementation
I think supplementation is a wonderful thing when it comes to Weight Loss, but only when your nutrition and fitness are on point.
There’s no point in trying to take a fat loss pill if you’re going to eat junk. It can be confusing because there are so many different weight loss supplements out there, and they all claim miraculous results.
But if you do decide to take any type of weight loss supplements, here is what I would recommend if your diet and exercise are in check:
Start Resistance Training
Strength or resistance training is a proven way to help reshape your body and lose weight. Most people assume that weights will make them bulky, but that’s only for men.
For women, weight training will help firm and tone their bodies. Women have lower levels of the hormone testosterone, so it is pretty much impossible for women to get bulky as a man would.
Also, by limiting your calories, you will get smaller and leaner, not bigger.
I think 2-3 full bodyweight workouts per week is a great place to start.
Don’t Beat yourself up
There are going to be ups and downs in your weight loss journey. One week, you’ll get amazing results. The next, you don’t lose any weight at all (or worse, gain a pound).
Remember that the body is trying to find its balance and it needs time to do so.
The best thing you can do is to remember that it is not an overnight process. Just take one day at a time, stay positive, and continue to work toward your goals.
If you beat yourself up, your motivation will be gone and you’ll be more likely to quit altogether.
Get a plan together
Whether you use our Guide to Weight Loss or one of our affiliate partner’s programs like the Cinderella Solution, it’s all going to be good as long as you make it a priority and do it!
As Wayne Gretsky famously quoted “You miss 100% of the shots you never take.”
Having a plan not only takes all the guesswork out of your journey, but it helps keep you motivated. I have found that client’s who just try to “wing it” are the ones who don’t see the greatest results.
The clients that commit to a plan are the ones I know will actually do it. Losing weight can be a challenging journey, but it is that much easier when you have a proven plan that produces results.
