What is The Pure Protein Diet?
The pure protein diet is a style of eating that produces extremely fast weight loss results by restricting both carbs and fat sources.
By keeping both fat sources and carbs low, the body has no choice but to start rapidly burning its own stored body fat

We found a channel called Anaerobixx (now called Raw Strength and Muscle) that talked about the steak and egg diet.
Bob the owner of the channel also spoke about a diet that he created which is very similar to Sylvester Stallone’s diet for the Rocky and Rambo movies

Keep in mind that this is a very restrictive diet and is not for the faint of heart.
But if you have to willpower to do it for short-term bursts, it’s possible to lose a lot of weight quickly.
Who is the pure protein diet for?
According to Bob, The pure protein diet is for someone who is on a high-fat, low-carb diet already.
This is because when you switch to a 30% fat and 70% protein split, the body is already used to using fat as its main fuel source.
This is called being fat adapted and is essentially what happens on a Keto diet.
So if you’re fat-adapted and have 10-20 more pounds to lose, then the pure protein diet should work well for you.
But if you have more than 20 lbs to lose, a higher fat, lower protein diet would work better.
He also wouldn’t recommend this diet for more than 2-4 weeks.

Sample Pure Protein Meal Plan
The main plan of the diet will be followed Monday-Saturday which consists of very low carbs, lower fats, and high protein.
On Sundays, you will be eating a more common keto diet which is still low carb but lowers the protein and ups the fat.
This helps refeed your body while still burning the maximum amount of body fat possible.
Sometimes cheat days on the weekends can get a little out of hand so still sticking to a keto diet on Sundays will not ruin this diet.
You’ll have to adjust the calories depending on your individual needs but the same meal plan can give you a good idea of where to start
Monday-Saturday Pure Protein Days
Breakfast
- 2 whole eggs
- 4 egg whites
Lunch
- 200 grams of chicken breast
- 25 grams of almonds
Dinner
- 200 grams lean sirloin steak (cut any visible fast off)
- 25 grams of almonds
Dessert
- ½ cup nonfat Greek yogurt
- 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder (check out the whey protein I recommend here)
- Mix together to make a vanilla protein “pudding”
Sunday high-fat Refeed days
Breakfast
- 2 slices of no sugar added Thick-cut Bacon
- 1/4 cup chopped mushrooms
- 3 whole eggs
- Cook bacon in a pan to desired crispy ness
- Then cook mushrooms and eggs in leftover bacon grease
Lunch
- 200 grams of chicken thighs
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp mustard
- ¼ cup celery
- salt and pepper to taste
- Serve with romaine lettuce to make chicken salad wraps
Dinner
- Ribeye steak cooked in butter
- Broccoli with cheddar cheese on top

What about supplements?
To lose weight with this diet, you do not need to use any supplements.
However, there are a few I would add when doing the pure protein diet:
Fiber Supplement
Since this diet is very low in carbs, fruits, and veggies, a fiber supplement will help with colon health.

Whey Protein Powder
During the week, I like to have a protein pudding by mixing nonfat Greek yogurt with 1 scoop of whey protein.
Since the pure protein diet is so restricted. Having this little healthy treat at the end of the night really helps with my sanity

Appetite Suppressant
The last supplement that can help with the pure protein diet is an appetite suppressant.
Because you’re eliminating both carbs and fats to a certain extent, you’re going to be hungry.
