5 Reasons Why Most Weight Loss Diets Fail
Losing weight is one of the most challenging goals for some people. My wife and I can attest to this through our weight loss journey. However, there is some light at the end of the tunnel. In the article, we dive into why most weight-loss diets fail and ways you can succeed in your weight loss journey.
Sugar Addictions

When you begin looking at food labels and what is in nutrition, you will be blown away by how much sugar is in everything. No wonder we are addicted!
Sugar addictions also affect the same brain chemicals as heroin and cocaine addiction. When you begin limiting your sugar intake, there are some withdrawal symptoms. However, it is well worth it for the final result.
Your body will stop craving sugar, have more energy (due to fewer insulin spikes and crashes), and just overall feel better.
Advertisements for junk food

There is a reason fast food companies spend millions of dollars on marketing and advertising… it works! When you begin a diet, you may notice that commercials make food look good!
When I go to the gym, they constantly play the food network in front of the treadmills!
Honestly, there isn’t a whole lot you can do about this. You are always going to have temptation when you begin eating healthy. There is a reason why most people are overweight. They give in too easily to the temptation. With all of this temptation, it is no wonder why most weight-loss diets fail.
Be strong, focus on why you are wanting to lose weight, and you will succeed!
Social Pressure
With social media, your entire life is basically on display. If you are overweight and are trying a new weight loss diet, there is more accountability.
Friends and family members on social media notice if you have put on weight (some may even make a rude comment about it)
While this may motivate some people to lose weight, it is very discouraging for most.
A wise man once said, keep your ideas to yourself until they are fully realized. Don’t talk to people about how you are going to lose weight.
Friends and Family do not always have the best intentions when you tell them you are wanting to improve your life. They will often try to discourage you due to their failures and insecurities.
Instead of telling them what you want to do, lose weight and show them your results!
Lack of Activity

Our bodies are meant to move. We have been doing so for thousands of years. In the past 100 years or so, we have become complacent.
This is especially true for stay-at-home moms and those sitting in front of a computer at work all day.
It is no wonder why we have become overweight.
By increasing your activity level, your metabolism will increase, and it will be much easier to lose weight
Not planning ahead
Benjamin Franklin stated that if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Most people who want to lose weight have the best intentions.
Unfortunately, intentions do need action to be effective.
Since becoming a Nutrition Consultant in 2006, I have worked with many clients wanting to lose weight. What I have noticed is that if you don’t have a plan, you will not be successful.
To the people who followed my meal plans, they received the best results. There are many ways to lose weight, but the main key is having a plan and taking action to make a positive change.
As Doc Brown said in the Back to the Future movies, “if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.”
