5 Best Home Workout Equipment to Lose Weight
Let’s face it. Not everyone is confident about signing up for a gym membership and starting to work out to lose weight. Many people just feel more comfortable working out at home. And while the gym does offer a versatile arrangement of different options to work out, you can achieve an amazing workout if you have a few pieces of home workout equipment to lose weight. Here is our list of the 5 home workout equipment to lose weight:
Pull Up Bar
Pull Up bars are a great way to build strength and tone muscle (also help burn fat). Many people (myself included) may have trouble doing a full pull-up, but we recommend using a chair and only doing the negative portion of the movement until you gain enough strength to do more

Yoga Mat
A good quality yoga mat is essential if you decide to practice yoga at home. Trust me, doing yoga without one will produce rug burns. Ouch!

Free Weights
A good set of Free weights will last for many years to come. We have had ours for over 15 years, and they are still in pristine condition. This part may be more expensive depending on how much weight you want.
We recommend checking out a Power Block adjustable dumbbell set. You change to turn a knob and adjust the weight in seconds which will help speed up your workouts

Bench
If you purchase a set of good quality free weights, you will also need a bench to use them. We recommend using an adjustable bench so that you can do different exercises at various angles.
You will also be able to do abdominal workouts with this bench.

Exercise Bike
I believe an exercise bike is one of the best cardio equipment you can buy. While a treadmill is another option, they are extremely expensive.
Why should you pay to walk and run? Besides, treadmills generally become expensive clothing racks from what I have seen.
An exercise bike is much less expensive, takes up less space, and can deliver an amazing fat-burning workout that melts the weight off you.

Cost: Home Gym Vs Gym Membership
The upfront investment will be more when building your own home gym but will pay for itself quickly. Let’s say that the equipment you buy will last for five years (it will last longer than that).
Here is a comparison to put the financial aspect into perspective:
Gym membership
$20 per month x 12 months x 5 years = $1200
Home Gym
Pull Up Bar 16.99 +Exercise Bike 149.00 +Free Weights 149.99 +Bench 56.52+Yoga Mat 17.99=
Total Upfront Investment for Home Gym $390.49
Also, you do not own anything after five years at the gym. If you build your home gym, you could always resell it and recoup some of your initial investment if you choose to.
Don’t forget about Nutrition
You may have heard this before but you can’t outwork a bad diet. You can work out for hours a day, but if you eat poor-quality foods, your body will reflect that. I believe body transformations consist of 80% nutrition and 20% exercise.
